Our Mission is Simple
I bet you are wondering how we got here…
GOOD SUN was founded by Annie and Will. Sun worshiping, water loving high school sweethearts, and the proud parents of twin girls.
We dreamed up GOOD SUN one summer, while on our annual beach vacation. Like many families, we love soaking up the sunshine at the beach but also know how important it is to protect our skin, and most importantly our kid’s skin from the sun.
The Sunscreen Dance
So, a few times a day, we did the sunscreen dance. Which meant chasing the kids around with a can of sunscreen! Let’s be honest, trying to cover a kid in sunscreen lotion is like wrestling a greased pig.
Packing the beach bag was our next daily hurdle. Most of the time we threw the used cans on a shelf and grabbed a full can to make sure we didn’t run out of sunscreen during the day. I don’t know about your beach bag, but space is at a premium in ours! One thing we definitely didn’t have room for were ½ empty cans of sunscreen that weren’t pulling their weight.
Stopped in our tracks
Towards the end of this vacation, we were packing up to leave and noticed the outrageous amount of sunscreen cans on our porch shelf.
At final count we had been through literally 23 cans of sunscreen. Some empty, but most containing some small amount sunscreen we deemed too little to cover one person. The sheer volume of waste from all those cans stopped us in our tracks.
